The all star game is over and the second half of the 2013 NBA season is here. Generally NBA championship futures have a history of being fairly predictable with the Lakers being the #1 or #2 favorite every year along with the Heat. The Heat are looking good this leading the East, but they still have less wins than the top three teams in the West. The Spurs, OKC and the Clippers all have 39 wins to Miami's 36. The Lakers opened up this season with odds of 3.75 which is a far cry from their current odds of 26.00. Those are the highest NBA futures odds for the Lakers in the last ten years probably and some may see value if they can squeak into the playoffs. The Lakers luck just got a lot worse though today with long time owner Jerry Buss dying today at the age of 80. It just seems like nothing is going right for the team that has dominated the NBA for the past decade.
